PERIMETER & BORDER SECURITY

Continuous fiber-optic intrusion detection up to 130 km (2×65 km) per interrogator: fence, barbed-wire, and buried ground sensing with counter-directional ring redundancy and certified Genetec Security Center RSA integration

Continuous Acoustic Control of Extended Perimeters and Approaches

The K-DAS distributed acoustic sensing system converts a standard single-mode telecommunication fiber-optic cable (ITU-T G.652) into thousands of continuous seismic and vibration sensors spaced every 1.6 to 10 meters. A single dual-channel interrogation unit installed in an equipment room monitors up to 130 km of perimeter boundary (two independent arms up to 65 km each).
Unlike point vibration sensors, active infrared beams, or radar barriers, the linear sensing element requires no field power supply, electronics, or intermediate cross-connect cabinets. The dielectric optical cable is completely passive, intrinsically explosion-proof (Ex), and immune to lightning strikes, high-voltage power lines, and electromagnetic interference.
  • Up to 130 km range
    (2×65 km per unit)
Up to 65 km per single arm and up to 130 km across two optical channels (2×65 km) from one interrogation unit. Zero field power required.
  • ±5 m accuracy &
    3–6 s response
Pinpoint localization of fence climbing, mesh cutting, manual digging, footsteps, and vehicle movement with real-time GPS/GLONASS coordinates.
  • Ring redundancy
    upon cable cut
Counter-directional optical interrogation preserves 100% perimeter protection on both sides of a complete cable cut while reporting the break coordinate.
  • Genetec RSA &
    PTZ auto-steering
Certified integration with Genetec Security Center RSA, automated PTZ camera and thermal imager steering, and networks of 20+ units (>1500 km).

Early Standoff Detection Distances on Perimeter Approaches

When buried in the approach zone, the passive optical sensor detects personnel and vehicles long before physical contact with the perimeter fence:
Detection of heavy machinery movement and digging up to 300 meters from the K-DAS fiber-optic cable
50–300 m from cable
Movement and excavation by heavy construction and earthmoving machinery
Detection of vehicle movement up to 60 meters from the K-DAS perimeter sensor
50–60 m from cable
Approach and movement of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles
Detection of manual digging and tunneling attempts within 30 meters of the perimeter cable
15–30 m from cable
Manual digging with shovels, tunneling attempts, and unauthorized ground works
Detection of human footsteps and crawling attempts within 10 meters of the optical cable
5–10 m from cable
Single or group human footsteps and stealthy approach (crawling)

Perimeter Sensing Layouts & Ring Survivability

• On perimeter fencing & barbed wire: direct attachment to chain-link, welded mesh, or concrete fences to detect climbing and cutting.
• Buried in ground (up to 130 km / 2×65 km): shallow burial at 0.3–0.5 m forms a completely invisible passive boundary (up to 65 km per arm) with zero field power.
• Dual-line contour: two parallel sensing lines determine the exact crossing direction (vector) and speed of intruders.
• Ring redundancy: counter-directional optical polling maintains 100% coverage across the entire perimeter upon a single cable cut.
Threat Classification & Weather Noise Rejection

• Target recognition: signal processing algorithms distinguish footsteps, fence climbing, manual digging, and light or heavy vehicles.
• Environmental filtering: multi-channel spatial analysis suppresses false alarms from strong wind, rain, snow, thunder, and small animals.
• Patrol verification: real-time tracking of security guard patrol routes and schedule compliance along the perimeter.
• Continuous acoustic archive: full recording of all perimeter events with GPS/GLONASS coordinates for forensic replay.

Extended airport and critical infrastructure perimeter security integrated with Genetec Security Center RSA
Certified Genetec Security Center RSA & PSIM Integration

• Genetec Security Center RSA: native transmission of intrusion coordinates to GIS maps, video feeds, and operator workflows.
• Automated PTZ camera steering: instant camera and thermal imager rotation to the alarm coordinate alongside radar and ACS integration.
• Multi-unit networking: unify more than 20 K-DAS systems (>1,500 km total perimeter) under a single centralized command center.
• Open interfaces: seamless integration via REST API, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, JSON/XML, and hardware dry-contact relay outputs.

System Selection: Full-Scale K-DAS vs. Compact K-DAS Light

Full-Scale K-DAS System (up to 130 km / 2×65 km)

The dual-channel interrogation unit is engineered for extended perimeters of strategic oil & gas complexes, refineries, airports, solar/wind farms, and state borders.
  • Up to 65 km monitoring range per single arm (up to 130 km across two optical channels, 2×65 km) from a single interrogation unit.
  • Counter-directional ring redundancy: preserves 100% perimeter coverage on both sides of a complete fiber-optic cable cut.
  • Scalable architecture combining 20+ interrogation units into a unified security network exceeding 1,500 km.
Compact K-DAS Light Modification (Up to 10–20 km)

Purpose-built single-channel solution in a 2U (19") chassis, optimized for local industrial sites, electrical substations, logistics terminals, warehouse complexes, and data centers.
  • Optimal total cost of ownership (TCO) for short- and medium-length perimeters (up to 10 km on fencing and up to 20 km buried).
  • Built-in dry-contact relay outputs for direct hardware interfacing with existing intrusion alarm panels, ACS, and video recorders.
  • Rapid commissioning, native integration with Genetec Security Center RSA, and low power consumption (under 100 W).

On-Site Pilot Testing (Field Trial) on Your Perimeter

Verify system performance under your site's actual operating conditions. Our engineering team conducts pre-project site surveys and live proof-of-concept (PoC) trials on your perimeter fence or existing optical cable:
  • Stage 1. Perimeter Fence & Optical Route Audit (1–2 days)
Inspection of existing fence structures (chain-link, welded mesh, concrete, razor wire), soil conditions along the approach zone, and OTDR testing of dark optical fibers.
  • Stage 2. Non-Intrusive 19" Rack Installation (1 day)
Installation of the K-DAS interrogation unit in the security control room and connection to the selected optical fiber (fence-mounted or buried) without disrupting facility operations.
  • Stage 3. Intrusion Simulation & Classifier Tuning (2–5 days)
Controlled test intrusions per customer protocol: fence climbing, fabric cutting, manual digging, footsteps, and vehicle approaches under varying weather and wind conditions.
  • Stage 4. Verification & PSIM / PTZ Integration (1–2 days)
Demonstration of automated PTZ camera steering and alarm transmission to the security center, delivery of the test report, and final engineering design for full deployment.
